Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, finished its first round of mass nucleic acid testing on Nov 2.

This round of nucleic acid testing began on the evening of Oct 30 when Heilongjiang province reported 26 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and one asymptomatic case, all of which were registered in the city of Heihe.

Testing covers all people in the jurisdiction of Harbin, and during the testing, the city's Pingfang district discovered one COVID-19 case on Nov 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 1, a total of 1,330 close contacts of the confirmed case and 3,298 somewhat close contacts of the confirmed case have been tracked down and are under quarantine.

Meanwhile, 8,353 people who have not undergone nucleic acid testing in accordance with epidemic prevention and control requirements were penalized with a yellow health code.

They have been urged to complete testing as soon as possible so as to stop the potential spread of COVID-19.
