As the COVID-19 epidemic in the Chinese mainland has stabilized, some provinces have announced the removal of the ban on cross-provincial group travel and some tourist attractions have started to welcome tourists.
 
Some particularly appealing cities – like Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province – are doing particularly well.
 
During the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday on June 3-5, bookings for long-distance travel via China's online travel booking platform Fliggy jumped a whopping 82 percent compared with that for the May Day holiday.
 
Harbin ranked sixth and ninth place, respectively, among the country's most popular travel destinations and most popular tourist source cities during the break.
