A series of activities for this year's Harbin Charming Summer Music Fair officially kicked off in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on July 17.
 
The event is sponsored by the Harbin culture, radio, television and tourism bureau and will run for around 50 days until Sept 4.
 
During this period, many literary and artistic groups from all walks of life in the city and outstanding literary and artistic talent from the community, colleges and universities, government agencies, enterprises and institutions will present two theatrical performances every day in the city's flood control memorial tower square.
 
The performance will be held from 16:30 to 18:00 and from 19:30 to 21:00, respectively.
 
Huang Dawei, deputy director of the Harbin culture, radio, television and tourism bureau said in an interview that the event has been held every summer as scheduled since 2014.
 
The event gives the public a platform to showcase their talents and is a unique mass culture event that boosts the integrated development of culture and tourism.
