Agreements for a total of 87 projects worth more than 150 billion yuan ($15.01 billion) were signed at the Heilongjiang Agricultural Investment Exchange Meeting, which was held in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on Aug 15.
 
Da Bei Nong Group announced it will invest 100 billion yuan in Heilongjiang province over a 10-year period, which is expected to generate an industrial output value of 100 billion yuan.
 
Heilongjiang province is a major agricultural province in China.
   
It has ranked first in the country in terms of arable land area and quality, total grain output, commodity volume and export volume for many years and leads the country in terms of land scale management.
 
Heilongjiang has a solid agricultural foundation, is rich in natural resources, and possesses many national-level industrial zones, agricultural product processing parks, and agriculture-related universities and scientific research institutes.
