An international cargo flight connecting Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, to Los Angeles in the US officially opened on Aug 22.
 
A cargo plane carrying 41.4 metric tons of e-commerce goods and general trade goods successfully took off from the Harbin Taiping International Airport at 22:07 Beijing time.

It is the second intercontinental cargo flight to open in Heilongjiang province following the Harbin-Moscow cargo flight that started operating in 2021.
 
The newly-launched Harbin-Los Angeles cargo flight is operated by Harbin Longyulian International Logistics Co and is served by Hainan Airlines’ Boeing 789-9.
 
The cargo flight is scheduled to run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and each flight can carry 45 tons of cargo.
 
A single journey from Harbin to Los Angeles by cargo plane takes about 11 hours. It is the shortest flight time from China to North America and can meet the efficient transportation needs of various types of goods, including cross-border e-commerce and general trade goods.
 
The opening of the international cargo route from Harbin to Los Angeles will improve the accessibility and connectivity of flights between Heilongjiang province and North America and promote economic and trade exchanges between Harbin and major international cities in North America.
 
It also plays an essential role in building Harbin airport into an influential international air cargo hub.
