Harbin recognized as 'City of Olympic Champions'

Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, was awarded the commemorative "City of Olympic Champions" trophy by the Chinese Olympic Committee on Nov 10.
 
As of June 2022, a total of five cities across the country have won the honor. In addition to Harbin, the others are Baoding in Hebei province, Anshan in Liaoning province, Ningbo in Zhejiang province, as well as Qitaihe in Heilongjiang province.
 
Harbin is the first provincial capital city to be so honored, in an appellation which recognizes a city's outstanding contributions to the nation's sports development.

During the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Harbin athletes Ren Ziwei, Zhang Yuting, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong won three gold medals for the country.
 
Harbin has a long history and solid foundation in developing its sports. In recent years, it has implemented the national fitness strategy and pursued the coordinated development of competitive sports, sports facilities, sports culture and mass sports.
 
After an awards ceremony held on Nov 10, the winter sports management center of the General Administration of Sport of China signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Harbin Sport University.
 
 

 
 
 

Harbin ramps up childcare services

A new comprehensive service center for childcare in Harbin is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
