Preparations for this year's China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, a highlight of the largest ice and snow festival in the world, officially kicked off on the evening of Nov 26, Dongbei news network reported.
 
Information from the management committee of the expo revealed that preparations will last until late December due to temperature conditions in Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.
 
As of the morning of Nov 27, more than 1,500 cubic meters of snow had been made by snow machines in preparation for snow-sculpture making.
