The first Northeast Asia Culture and Art Creative Design Expo is scheduled to be held in the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center in Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, from May 7 to 10.

This year's expo will be held both online and offline, aiming to help promote the creative design industry as a new economic growing point in Heilongjiang province, and to help empower industrial upgrading.

This expo will set up two pavilions. Among them, Pavilion A will be a comprehensive creative design industry pavilion. Relying on the geographical location of Harbin and the advantages of the Shenzhen-Harbin cooperation platforms, it is expected to promote regional resource cooperation. It will achieve complementary advantages through exhibition transactions, cultural exchanges, and other activities.

Pavilion B will feature the cultural industry integration development exhibition, which will showcase the region’s advantageous domestic cultural and tourism industries. It will also provide a communication and cooperation platform for new products, new technologies, and new achievements, as well as promote cross-regional and cross-industry innovation and integration.

Seven exhibition areas will be set up for domestic exhibitions, covering digital technology, the integration of culture and tourism, intangible cultural heritage, press and publication, and creative design.

The international exhibition area attracts 31 overseas cultural institutions and enterprises from 15 countries and regions, including Russia, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, France, Germany, and Brazil.

In addition to the main venue at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center, this expo will also have 15 sub-venues to showcase the achievements of the region’s cultural, artistic and creative design.

Of note, the Harbin-Shenzhen Creative Design Exhibition will be held in the main venue. It will have a "design-driven" exhibition theme, and includes five sections. These sections are design and industry, design and city, design and rural construction, design and brand, and design and culture.

The exhibition will display outstanding creative and innovative works from Harbin and Shenzhen in the form of text, pictures, physical exhibits and video images; present cases of design innovation and creative achievements; show design-driven innovative thinking and methods; and promote economic, cultural and urban development exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.

At present, the business invitations for the expo have been sent out. A total of 378 government organizations, cultural institutions and enterprises have confirmed their participation in the exhibition.
