A promotional event was held on Dec 9 for the Centennial Shipping Ice and Snow Happy World project in the Harbin section of Songhua River, which is expected to open to the public in late December.
The project uses the opportunity provided by the Asian Winter Games to deeply integrate century-old shipping culture with ice and snow culture.
Its ice area covers 1.45 million square meters and features four major themed zones.
The "Ice and Snow Departure" zone includes an ice and snow experience park designed in the shape of a ship's wheel. At the center of the wheel, visitors will find popular attractions such as a Christmas snow house and ice sculptures. The wheel's spokes will host activities like ice karting, utility terrain vehicles, and snowmobiles.
In the "Flying Boats on the River" zone, 20 hovercraft will provide immersive ice flights. The route will link the Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, Harbin Ice and Snow World, and other themed winter zones.
Near the riverside, a large-scale "Icy Aircraft Carrier" will be built to a 1:6 scale using steel supports, ice, and snow.
The project will also feature public ice rinks, snow football, curling experiences, and ice hockey, offering a variety of entertainment activities.
