With the Songhua River now frozen over, construction officially began on the 7th Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Carnival, which is centered around the river.
Work is steadily progressing on tasks such as monitoring the ice layer, setting up barriers, marking lines and finalizing project locations.
This winter, the ice and snow carnival has adopted the theme "Dream of Winter, Love Among Asia" and will span from the popular Tielu Bridge in the east to Tongjiang Square in the west.
It is Harbin's most entertaining, engaging, and experiential ice and snow paradise, offering entertainment, leisure, and food.
This year’s carnival features three major functional zones and an expansive play area, as well as a record-breaking 60 entertainment activities.
Additionally, commercial and service facilities have been comprehensively upgraded, with bilingual signage and broadcast instructions covering the entire venue, providing a diverse array of interactive ice and snow art experiences.
The design plan of this year's carnival incorporates elements of the "Asian Winter Games".
The most striking feature is the "Asian Winter Games Element Earth Landscape" project, which centers around the "Surpass" emblem of the 9th Asian Winter Games to be held in 2025, creating a technologically-advanced, visually spectacular, and awe-inspiring landscape.
