Modern Hotel is located at No 89 Harbin Central Avenue in the city of Harbin.
 
It was built in 1906 with an architectural style popular in European countries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The design of the hotel is based on traditional architectural styles and has a naturalistic and simple style.
  The hotel offers high-end cuisine that combines Chinese and Western cuisine, and it has been included on the list of intangible cultural heritage items of Heilongjiang province. The earliest Chinese and Western recipes in Harbin all came from the Modern Restaurant.
 
First-generation Western food inheritor Zhang Yurong wrote the book "Western Food Recipes" and fourth-generation successor Tian Kai was awarded the title of Master Chef of Western Food in China.
