The China Harbin Summer International Beer Festival has a long history and rich culture. The first beer brewed in the nation was in Harbin. After years of development since it first opened in 2002, the scale of the Harbin Beer Festival has unceasingly expanded.

In 2010, it became a national-level beer festival. In 2011, the Harbin Beer Festival changed its name to the China Harbin Summer International Beer Festival. The scale and grade, activity contents and cultural connotation have improved, transforming the festival into an international top-level beer festival. It has become one of the three largest beer festivals in China, enjoying the same fame as Qingdao and Dalian. On June 28, 2012, the China Harbin Summer International Beer Festival hosted by the China Light Industry Federation and Harbin Municipal People's Government was held in Harbin.
