Pingfang district in Harbin city recently designed and released a tourism route to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The tourism route covers scenic spots related to CPC history, the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, cultural and arts centers and old industrial sites.

Among the featured sites are the Museum of Evidence of War Crimes by Japanese Army Unit 731, Xia Qing Culture and Arts Hall, the Harbin Beer Museum and a branded food production plant.

At the site of Japan's biological and chemical warfare research base during World War II, the 30-meter-long and 10-meter-high display wall, themed "International treaties prohibiting the use of biochemical weapons," lists treaties signed to ban biological weapons.

"The site of Japanese Army Unit 731 is a special memory left for us to reflect on the cruelty of war. It is also a warning to the world," according to a museum visitor on April 17.

In the Xia Qing Culture and Art Museum, visitors can learn about China's first generation of broadcasters and broadcasting artist Xia Qing, listen to Xia Qing's radio recordings and enjoy the art.

In Pingfang district’s military enterprises and food plants, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the history and development of China's military giants AVIC Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Co, Harbin Dong'an Auto Engine Co and Northeast China Light Alloy Co, as well as the production progress of Harbin's traditional beer and Qiulin govas.

Teachers and students from Tielu School in Wuchang city were the first batch of visitors to experience the new tourism route.
