The Harbin city administration department recently launched a flower appreciation guidebook, just in time to celebrate the beautiful plants and trees that are now in bloom or about to bloom across Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.

Flowers that are currently in bloom include forsythias, peach blossoms, mountain apricots, elm plums and lilacs.

Statistics from the Harbin city administration department shows that 48,000 forsythia trees, 78,000 mountain apricot trees, 178,000 flowering plum trees, 1.3 million lilac trees and 9,000 peach trees have been planted in the city.

They are mainly distributed throughout Harbin’s parks and various streets. Except for the Northern Forest Zoo, all parks are free for tourists and residents to enter.

The flowering season for the aforementioned trees will last from April to July.
