Harbin in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, with its cool and pleasant summer climate, has once again emerged as a top travel destination in China, drawing visitors from all over the country.

In the first seven months of this year, Harbin received a staggering 190 million tourists, with 130 million choosing to stay overnight in the city.

Tourists aged 46 to 60 account for 19.44 percent of the total, followed closely by the younger crowd aged 18 to 24, who make up 18.3 percent.

One notable statistic is that 12.67 percent of visitors have visited Harbin more than 10 times within the past seven months.

Industry experts suggest that this high frequency of visits is likely due to the numerous exhibitions and performances held in the city this year, attracting both exhibitors and attendees. These vibrant events and rich cultural offerings have contributed significantly to the sustained popularity of Harbin as a summer destination.

Among those visiting Harbin, 48.65 percent expressed a keen interest in exploring tourist attractions. Harbin Central Avenue, the St. Sophia Square, and the Chinese Baroque Block are their most coveted destinations.

Additionally, 2.36 percent of tourists enjoy cultural experiences in theaters and concert halls, while 5 percent prefer indulging in the local bathhouse culture to experience the unique Northeast China bathing traditions.
