Harbin airport launches winter flight schedule to meet travel demand

Harbin Taiping International Airport will switch to its winter flight schedule on Oct 25 to meet the travel demands of passengers, according to information from the airport. The winter flight program will run until next March.

According to the adjusted winter schedule, there are a total of 1,684 flights every week linking Harbin to 95 destinations via 188 flight routes, a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent.

During the winter season, Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Spring Airlines and Zhejiang Loongair Airlines will increase their transportation capacity at Harbin’s airport. 

Zhejiang Loongair Airlines will increase its transport capacity by 115 percent, while Hainan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Spring Airlines will increase by more than 23 percent. Sichuan Airlines and Air China will increase their transport capability by more than 6 percent.

Eight new routes will be opened, including the Harbin-Taiyuan-Boao route, the Harbin-Weifang-Xiamen route, the Harbin-Yinchuan-Jiayuguan route and the Harbin-Fuyang-Sanya route.

Also, flights to cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Qingdao will increase during the winter.

The number of daily flights from Harbin to Shanghai, Beijing, Sanya, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Haikou, Nanjing and Xi’an will be 27, 22, 15, 13, 13, 12, 12, 12, 11 and 11 flights, respectively.

As a result of the ongoing pandemic, international passenger routes to and from Harbin airport are currently suspended, except for Harbin to Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea. It is expected that adjustments will be made to international flights according to the global COVID-19 situation.
