Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has become more and more popular in China and throughout the world in recent years.
One TCM expert in Northeast China has contributed his whole life to traditional Chinese medical sciences. He is Professor Zhang Qi, a 95-year-old TCM expert from Heilongjiang Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As a pioneer of the TCM industry in Heilongjiang province, Zhang has spent 75 years on the research and promotion of TCM.
With an innovative mindset, he was a supervisor for four post doctorate students, 40 TCM doctors and eight TCM masters. He also taught nine TCM experts, some of whom are now national TCM leaders and doctoral supervisors.
"The key to the development of TCM is inheritance, and the way to carry forward TCM is to train and develop young people. Therefore, no matter how hard I work, I think it is worthwhile," said Zhang.
