During this year's three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept 15 to 17, Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, revealed a 7 percent increase in its tourism orders compared to the Dragon Boat Festival, with inbound travel orders surging by 24 percent over the same period.

This is according to a tourism summary report released by Trip.com Group, China's largest online travel agency, on Sept 17.

Popular attractions in Harbin during the festival included the Volga Manor, Harbin Sunac Land, and Mao'er Mountain Scenic Area.

Key activities for tourists centered around "Chinese-style tourism" and enjoying autumn's natural scenery.

Harbin's "Chinese-style tourism" remained a hot trend during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with young people engaging in traditional activities such as lantern viewing, riddle guessing, chrysanthemum appreciation, and poetry discussions.

According to Shen Jiani, a senior researcher at Trip.com Research Institute, "Chinese-style tourism" has evolved from a historical relic into a new trend, with an increasing number of young people participating.

In addition to experiencing Harbin's unique cultural offerings, many tourists and locals chose to explore and enjoy the city's natural autumn scenery.
