The aviation support industry cluster in Pingfang district of Harbin city, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, is the only cluster from Heilongjiang to be included in the 2024 list of national-level specialized industrial clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
 
The list was recently announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
 
Since the initiative to promote specialized industrial clusters for SMEs began, it has focused on developing SMEs and regional economies, emphasizing the utilization of advantageous and distinctive industries.
 
The initiative, which tailors strategies to local conditions, has nurtured enterprises, strengthened industries, and fostered new quality productive forces. To date, 300 national-level specialized industrial clusters for SMEs have been recognized.
 
Over the years, Pingfang district has capitalized on its existing aviation industry foundations,  cultivating specialized aviation support enterprises.
 
The 94-square-kilometer Pingfang aviation support industry cluster has embraced new quality productive forces to drive its development, gradually establishing a thriving system to grow quality SMEs.
 
The cluster's enterprises cover various fields, including aircraft engines and aviation materials and components. This has created a robust mechanism for nurturing, transforming, and concentrating SMEs, leading to an ever-expanding industrial chain and continuously enhanced innovation capabilities.
