Music concert brightens Harbin’s night

Singers from the Shanghai Opera House featuring Wei Song, a renowned Chinese tenor, sang a total of 19 famous Chinese and foreign songs on the evening of August 9 at the Global Center of the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center, taking audiences on a musical journey that left them enchanted.
At the concert, audiences heard songs such as I Love You, China and On the Sun Island, a household song in Harbin. They also enjoyed Toreador Song from the opera Carmen, Vissi d'arte from Tosca and Sacra la Scelta from Luisa Miller.
The concert was sponsored by the Harbin municipal government and Harbin tourism administration. It was an important part of the “Charming Harbin Summer” tourism promotion activities.
The Shanghai Opera House is a leading performing arts group nationwide. The group also included the famous conductor Lin Yousheng, the baritone Zhang Feng, two tenors Chi Liming and Han Peng, and the soprano Xu Xiaoying.
The concert was the group’s last tour in Northeast China in 2013.
