Route 6: Pingshan Scenic Area -- Maoer Mountain Ecological Tourist Resort
Pingshan Scenic Area is located in Acheng district, 70 km from Harbin. The area is home to ski resorts, lakes, swimming pools, top-rated hotels and other facilities, including the country's largest deer farm, where more than 1,000 spotted and red deer are raised. The area was listed as a national 4A-level scenic spot in 2007 and functions as a unique forest and ecotourism resort all year round.
The Maoer (Hat) Mountain Ecological Tourist Resort is a natural scenic area about 80 km away from downtown Harbin. Its peak is 805 m high.
The mountain looks like a hat, which is why it called Hat Mountain, or Maoer Mountain in Chinese. There is an annual expedition festival held there in spring, which attracts over 10,000 people.
There are four tourist areas in the resort: an aquatic tourist area, an agricultural sightseeing spot, an area for sports on ice and snow and a religious cultural tourist destination.
