    Harbin will open 10 high-speed trains for eastern tourists as the snowy season approaches in the city, according to the Harbin tourism administration on Dec 2.

    Harbin’s public transportation network is 776.6 kilometers long, with 202 public transportation routes, 11 extended public transportation routes and seven newly-opened public transportation routes.

    In 2011, the urban construction of Harbin saw fast development. The city finished construction of 212 urban roads and 38 bridges, including Yangmingtan Bridge, Xuanhua Viaduct, Xinkang Viaduct, Xianfeng Road, Riverside Scenery Road and Volga Manor Road.

    Harbin is one of the most important hubs for transportation, communication and post distribution in Northeast China. In 2011, total cargo volume reached 114.3 million tons.
