Harbin’s Wanglin Packaging Materials Co has attracted widespread certain amount of attention recently because of its development speed and performance, and has left visitors wondering how such a small factory could become a regional leader in just a few years.

The company, located in the city’s Binxi Economic and Technological Development Zone, started producing packaging materials eight years ago, and has developed into the largest player in its field in China’s Northeast with an annual output value above 100 million yuan ($15.38 million). It provides bottles and caps for famous companies in China and abroad, including Wahaha and Huiyuan, and the Jiusan Oil & Fat Co and Beidacang Group. and its bottles for Lotte Baishanchi Mineral Water are exported to South Korea.

Its president Wang Yesheng explained the strength of its source, “Our product -- a mineral water bottle -- has the highest quality and safety in China,”then adds that its rigorous standards and manufacturing excellence are the reason it was selected as the only Chinese supplier for Lotte. “The equipment imported from Canada and the US so we have greater efficiency, quality and reliability,” noting that their formaldehyde emissions are tied to the speed of production, so the shorter the production, the smaller the amount of formaldehyde.

The company said it has spent 250 million yuan on expansion with work on a new office building and other infrastructure expected to be completed in June resulting in annual sales of 200 million yuan and 60 new jobs added in late August.
