Route 2: Weihu Mountain Forest Park -- Yuquan Hunting Field
Weihu Mountain Forest Park is located in Yuquan Town, in Harbin’s Acheng district. It is 50 kilometers away from the downtown area of the city. The whole park covers an area of 100 hectares. It features vast pine forests, steep mountains, deep caves and clear springs. It is one of the key provincial-level attractions of Heilongjiang province.
Yuquan Hunting Field is 55 km from Harbin, covering an area of 3,000 ha. It is the largest closed hunting ground in Asia.
A total of 17 mountain peaks stretch out and the highest peak is 517 meters above sea level. There are 60 species of trees, 40 species of birds and thousands of red deer and spotted deer.
The Cultural Exhibition Center in Harbin in Yuquan Hunting Field showcases more than 1,700 examples of national history and contemporary ethnic folk culture. It fully demonstrates the spirit of the northern ethnic groups. Academics have called it as an "East Asian cultural treasure" as it is a valuable database for folklore studies and rare materials of local interest.
