Harbin achieves historic tourism peaks during Spring Festival holiday

During this year's eight-day Spring Festival holiday, Harbin city welcomed a record-breaking 10.09 million visits, marking an 81.7 percent daily increase from the previous year.
 
The city also achieved an astounding tourism revenue of 16.42 billion yuan ($2.25 billion), representing a remarkable 235.4 percent year-on-year growth.
 
Both visitor numbers and tourism revenue reached unprecedented highs.
 
Data from Harbin Taiping International Airport revealed that during the holiday, the airport facilitated 4,107 flight takeoffs and landings, transporting 676,000 passengers. This reflects respective increases of 21 percent and 31.5 percent year-on-year, setting new records and positioning itself as the leading airport among the four major airports in Northeast China.
 
Elsewhere, according to data from online booking website Meituan, during the Spring Festival holiday, Harbin ranked first in tourism consumption in Northeast China. It had a daily spending growth rate of 130.2 percent compared to the same period last year. The top five regions that contributed to Harbin's out-of-town visitors were Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Tianjin.
