Beer festival lures tourists to Harbin

In a flurry of color and spectacle, the 21st China Harbin International Beer Festival made its dazzling debut on the night of July 20 at the Harbin Ice and Snow World.
 
A 60,000-square-meter area has been set up to host more than 30 beer brands showcasing over 500 beers. Beers coming from over 10 countries known for their brews, including China, Russia, Germany, the US, Mexico and the Netherlands, are on offer for consumers.
 
The opening ceremony of the festival was an extravaganza of various crowd-pleasing performances. Popular singers and musical theater actors stepped onto the stage, performing and enthusiastically interacting with their fans and audience members.

As the night fell, the festival site was lit up by a glittering fireworks show, illuminating the midsummer night in Harbin.
 
The Harbin International Beer Festival is not only a significant event for the city but also a major platform for Harbin to showcase its charm and global integration.
 
Harbin boasts the highest beer consumption among major cities in China. The city's beer sales rank third worldwide, following only Munich in Germany, and Paris. The average beer consumption per capita in Harbin is 85 liters.
 
During the opening ceremony, the China Alcoholic Drinks Association awarded Harbin the title of "China's Beer Capital".
