A ceremony to celebrate the official landing of a large-scale unmanned aerial vehicle industry project in the Harbin Economic Development Zone in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, was successfully put on display for the public view on June 16.

United Aircraft Group invested in the project and will be in charge by the newly-established Harbin United Aircraft Technology Co.

Since its establishment in 2012, United Aircraft Group has been deeply involved in the unmanned aerial vehicle industry for eleven years. It has grown into a leading enterprise in the global unmanned helicopter industry.

It has created an integrated base for unmanned aircraft design and development, production and assembly, and integrated testing, and it owns a series of independent intellectual property core technologies. Its products are widely used in emergency rescue, logistics transportation, agricultural and forestry plant protection, power inspection, and other fields.

According to Tian Gangyin, the founder, chairman, and CEO of United Aircraft Group, his company plans to carry out a large-scale unmanned helicopter industry landing project in Heilongjiang, create an unmanned helicopter research institute, a civil unmanned aerial vehicle application demonstration base, a manned and unmanned driving transformation base, and other projects.

Meanwhile, it plans to leverage the advantages of leading enterprises to drive the development of upstream and downstream industrial clusters and promote the construction of Heilongjiang's unmanned aerial vehicle industry ecological chain system. It will also help attract high-level scientific research talents and accelerate industrial revitalization in the province and the city.

It is hoped to develop Heilongjiang into China's most extensive unmanned helicopter industry base and gradually expand to the global market.

As a national old industrial base, heavy equipment production manufacturing base, energy and raw material base, and a region with unparalleled agricultural resources, Heilongjiang has over 80 general aviation companies, more than 200 general aviation airports, complete industrial systems, strong science and education strength, and prominent location advantages.

Moreover, its vast forests, farmlands, lakes, and rivers provide a broad application market for unmanned aerial vehicles.

As one of the birthplaces of China's aviation industry, the provincial capital city of Harbin has developed for more than 70 years and has become one of the country's largest research and development and production bases for helicopters and aircraft engines, providing unique geographical advantages and fundamental support for the landing of unmanned helicopter projects.
