From June 1 to 2, Zhang Haihua, vice Mayor of Harbin, led a delegation from the Harbin Asian Winter Games Organizing Committee to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Regional Forum for East Asia and Southeast Asia.

The 9th Asian Winter Games is scheduled to be held in Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, in 2025.

During the forum, the Harbin delegation presented updates on preparations in 12 areas, including competitions, registration, arrivals and departures, and athlete villages.

They also engaged in discussions and answered questions from representatives of national Olympic committees from countries and regions such as Cambodia, the Philippines and Japan.

Meanwhile, the delegation held working discussions with the OCA.

Both parties reached agreements on issues raised by National Olympic Committees during the forum, established a regular consultation mechanism, and deliberated on policies in various operational areas, including competition organization, award ceremonies, information technology and volunteers, aiming to expedite preparations for the Asian Winter Games.

Elsewhere, the delegation distributed invitation letters to 19 national Olympic committees from East Asia and Southeast Asia. It held working discussions with the Olympic committees of Malaysia and Japan, as well as the organizing committee of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan, on competition organization, entry policies, service guarantees during the Games, and observer programs.

Furthermore, the delegation set up a Harbin Asian Winter Games information desk at the venue. Staff members provided on-site assistance, answered questions, distributed promotional materials for the Asian Winter Games, and received a warm reception from the attending delegates.
