Ctrip, an online travel agency in China, released its 2024 Dragon Boat Festival Travel Report on June 10, revealing a significant boost in tourism for Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.

The data shows that bookings for travel to Harbin during the holiday increased 13 percent compared to last year. Even more impressive, inbound travel bookings to Harbin surged 85 percent.

Harbin's main sources of visitors during the holiday were Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Shenzhen, and Daqing. Popular attractions in the city included the Siberian Tiger Park, Harbin Sunac Land, Harbin Polarland, the Songhua River Cableway, and Volga Manor.

Visitors were treated to a vibrant array of experiences: a stunning light show on Sun Island, a colorful market showcasing the city's unique charms, hands-on workshops to experience intangible cultural heritage items, and thrilling dragon boat races along the Songhua River.

Both domestic and international tourists immersed themselves in Harbin's distinctive character and rich Chinese culture.

Inbound tourists particularly enjoyed exploring the city's unique landscapes and traditional customs and delighted in its culinary offerings.

Cultural and creative products from Harbin were popular as souvenirs among international visitors, allowing them to take a piece of the city's charm back home with them.
