A-level tourist attractions in the city of Harbin – capital of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province – will be partly opened during the May Day holidays, according to Harbin tourism authorities.

Officials said it is a move being carried out by the Harbin government to reduce the risks posed by tourists gathering during the epidemic prevention and control period.

Harbin tourism officials said that all indoor scenic spots in Harbin will be temporarily closed during the holidays.

Meanwhile, all open scenic spots are subject to an appointments system. From April 28, tourists who want to travel there can make online ticket reservations through the "Fun Longjiang" management system.

They are also advised to keep abreast of the dynamics of their travel destinations and the instructions for the tour by logging in to the official website of the attractions in advance.

In addition, attractions will adopt a time-scheduled and interval method to regulate the numbers of tourists entering in an orderly manner. When the numbers of visitors reach 30 percent of the attraction’s maximum capacity, new visitors must wait outside for other time periods.

Meanwhile, tourists are required to show their health code and receive a body temperature check before entering the scenic areas and wear a mask at all times during the visit.
