Harbin airport experiences travel rush

The Harbin Taiping International Airport in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, saw 11,215 flights and 1.42 million passengers in July.
With the gradual recovery of the interprovincial tourism market and the arrival of the summer travel rush, demand for air travel is continuing to increase
This summer, many places in China are seeing high temperatures.
Harbin, known for its cool summers, has become a popular choice among many southern tourists looking to escape the summer heat.
Since the beginning of July, the number of tourists flying from southern cities to Harbin has increased sharply.
More than 45,000 passengers passed through the airport every day, and 50,000 passengers passed through on July 29, 30, and 31.
Tourists mainly came from Shanghai municipality, as well as Fujian, Guangdong, Hubei, Zhejiang, and Hainan provinces.
The occupancy rate of flights to Harbin from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Wuhan, Xiamen and Hangzhou was 85 percent.
To satisfy the increasing demand for flights to Harbin, new flights connecting Harbin to Yinchuan, Urumqi and Xining have been introduced.
In addition, more than 10 daily flights each are available from Harbin to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Qingdao and Xi’an .
