The 18th China•Harbin International Beer Festival opened at the Sun Island scenic area in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, on June 20.
Over a period of two months, visitors will not only have the opportunity to enjoy more than 100 flavors of beer from renowned brands such as Snow, Harbin, Budweiser, and Tsingtao, but also have a chance to try authentic food from Harbin, Russia, and Southeast Asia.
The festival will also feature four themed activities—"Youth Night", "Classic Night", "Anime Night" and "Rock Night", which will consist of singing, dancing, cosplay, and rock performances.
Other activities, such as beer competitions and self-brewing, will also take place.
The festival, now in its 18th year, plays an important role in promoting Harbin’s beer industry and drawing tourists to the city.
Harbin was the first Chinese city to focus on brewing beer, and it boasts a beer culture dating back more than 100 years. It also ranks among the cities with the highest beer consumption per capita in the world. The beer festival was first held in Harbin in 2001.
